Over the last two weeks, two of our engineers installed the guide star lasers for the GRAVITY+ upgrade at the VLTs in Paranal. The installation took place in an integration hall, where the GRAVITY+ project team assembled and tested all involved systems, including our lasers, before moving the fully tested systems to the telescopes.
Around the successful installation of the new SodiumStar lasers, our engineers had the opportunity to see the already installed guide star lasers at the VLT on-sky, which is always a sight to behold. Another highlight was a visit to the construction site of the ELT.
